From Sled Lake to Stark Lake – Northwest Territories, Canada

19th July

During the night the weather changed, and when dogs and owners peeked out this morning, it was gray and windy. Both me and Bernt agreed that this was a day to rest.

With the weather changing from sunny to windy to rain, back and forth all day, we spent a lot of time in the tent, reading and sleeping. There is nothing like dowsing off in the middle of the day, listening to the rain hammering on the tent, while you stay dry and warm inside.

During one of the breaks from the rain, we went trolling around the island, and secured our self a couple of trouts for dinner. Though we still needed to get some for the dogs as well, the rain started to fall again and drove us back into the tent. Later that afternoon, when the sky cleared up, it was back into the canoe for another round of trolling, and it did not take long until Kaisa and Lincoln had their evening snack secured as well.
